Adaptation: Design Concepts 2

Same as previous design concepts, I'm focusing on different root, body and canopy designs while integrating patterns and carvings traditional to folk art. I'll start moving on to designing the surroundings next while incorporating certain attributes from each of these designs.

  1. Hey Gabriel - really loving these design sheets, and I can make an argument for pretty much any of these examples (I love the one on the right!), BUT I suppose the defining concern must be which one is 'lithuanian' enough? And does that even matter? I think you need to tell me - you're the expert, right? What's your visual concept, and are these forms deriving from some sort of primordial cultural soup?

  2. There are definitely elements from each that work but I love the roots on the second one and the trunk on the third :)

  3. Thanks guys. Yeah my main goal now is to combine these designs and extend them into the environment (i.e. serpent kingdom, wall fortress) so to make it Lithuanian I'll be using patterns and simplified shapes, common in old Lithuanian sculpture and lino art.
