Unit 6: Concept #3 Cancer Factory

The final visualisation of my animation. I wanted to capture a kind of eerie mood and focus on lighting from beneath (red) and above (greenish mould light).

Unit 6: Concept Art #2 The Cells

Once again I'm putting in more dramatic colours to give it a cinematic feeling.

Unit 6: Maya Skinning Part 1

Learned how to weight joints with the separate vertices of the mesh to get a properly morphing model.

Unit 6: After Effects 4

In this weeks lesson we learned how to automatically keyframe object along a drawn path and animate compositions within compositions.

We also learned the basic of tracking with an animation and how you can place any object 2D or 3D within a film scene.

Unit 6: Telomerase Final Design

This is the so called 'savior' of the telomeres that attaches to the factory. I went with a bright white colour scheme to make it differ from the factory itself.

Unit 6: Telomerase Design Silhouettes

I hit the factory design right on the mark when I did my first concept art scene and then I got it just right on my first go with my mitochondria design. Now I'm having a little trouble with the telomerase so I did a few different silhouettes to try and pick out which one use.
Number 2 seems to be a winner for me and numbers 6 and 7 are meant to look like turbochargers which suits my overall factory feel. So I'm torn between those three but ultimately I feel like 2 could work the best.

Unit 6: Influence Videos

Here's a few videos with aspects closely related to how I envision my animation to look like. Obviously higher quality than what I'm capable of in Maya at the moment but influential nonetheless. Some also couldn't be embedded so I just linked them.

This video clearly shows the process of mitosis but still holding a level of pleasing aesthetic value.

A little bit of spiderman here. At 1:00 minute the Venom symbiote animation is very akin to what I picture of a cancerous takeover. An animation like that would be difficult but the idea of the long strands connected together could be a good idea for my factory cancer transformation.

Here's a medical animation showreel showing more cinematic characteristics without dialogue:

Finally here are two high aesthetic quality animations playing along with only music. The visual tell the story themselves.

Unit 6: After Effects 3

In this weeks lesson we learned about after effects coding to control certain animations. By applying codes to scale and rotation we made individual layers animate at their own pace to get a layered composition with minimal effort in animating.

@Phil Redlight for tomorrow

I should have the ogr styled post up towards the end of this week. Hope that's alright.

Unit 6: Mitochondria designs

Just giving a little backbone to the concept buildup of the different components of the animation including a bit of play around with colour.

Unit 6: Concept Art for Chromosome Factory

This is my envisioned chromosome factory within the nucleus of the cell. I'm portraying it as a production line factory with mitochondria on the outside powering it. I used stylised colours to get a better visual experience from the scene.

Unit 6: After Effects 2

This tutorial went over more layering structures with jpegs and creating them into 3D objects.
Adding camera work with 2D elements allowed for a depth of field illusion between the layers and the backwards camera movement.
